Telugu Titans Claim Their First Win

On September 4, the Telugu Titans achieved their first victory in PKL 2025 by defeating the Jaipur Pink Panthers with a score of 37-32 at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag. After two initial losses, this win marked a significant turnaround for the Titans.

Captain Vijay Malik and raider Bharat Hooda both contributed eight points each, while Ajit Power made a notable impact with a High Five, leading the Titans to their inaugural win of the season.

Despite Nitin Kumar Dhankar's impressive 13 points for the Pink Panthers, it wasn't enough to secure a win, marking their first defeat of the season after a previous victory against the Patna Pirates.

Match Highlights

In the early moments of the match, neither team established a dominant lead, although the Telugu Titans managed to edge ahead with a 7-5 score. Bharat Hooda showcased his skills with effective raids, eliminating Ronak Singh and Meetu in a two-point strike, followed by another successful raid against Sahil Satpal.

As the Pink Panthers struggled, Nitin Rawal executed a crucial Super Tackle on Bharat, providing his team with a much-needed boost. Nevertheless, the Titans maintained their momentum, executing an all-out in the 13th minute.

By halftime, the Titans had built a solid 16-9 lead, positioning themselves favorably. The Pink Panthers attempted to rally after the break, with Nitin Kumar leading the charge through consecutive raids that took down Chetan Sahu and Avi Duhan.

Reza Mirbagheri also made a significant defensive contribution by pinning down Malik and Bharat, reviving the Pink Panthers' hopes. However, the Titans' defense remained strong, highlighted by Ajit Pawar's Super Tackle that thwarted Ali Samadi's raid, extending their lead to 23-16.

The Pink Panthers refused to back down, with Nitin continuing his impressive performance by dismissing Amir Ejlali. Skipper Nitin Rawal then managed to take down Vijay Malik, allowing the Pink Panthers to inflict an all-out. Nitin completed his Super 10 with a multi-point raid, narrowing the gap to three points.

Ultimately, Malik executed a Super Raid that sealed the victory for the Titans, ensuring their first win of the tournament.
